I have made three separate purchases from Cotswold Cameras over several weeks. My first order was for a Canon R5 Mk2 with the Canon RF 24-105mm F4 lens. My second order was for a spare Canon battery and a Canon RF to EF lens adapter. My third and most recent order from Cotswold Cameras was for a Canon RF 70-200 F2.8 USM Z lens in black. All three Canon orders were dispatched from a warehouse in Hong Kong, and delivered to me in seven days. All items were 100% genuine Canon products, and identical to what you would get from any U.K. authorised Canon retailer. The only difference being that I saved just over three thousand pounds by purchasing from Cotswold Cameras and they provide a three year guarantee at no extra cost. Like many others, I had concerns about buying from a grey import company that I had not heard of before, the old adage, “if something looks to good to be true then it probably isn’t” played on my mind for weeks before I finally submitted my first order, and I haven’t had any regrets whatsoever.
My Canon R5 Mk2 was delivered to me from a warehouse in Hong Kong in seven days as were my two subsequent orders, and with the tracking number provided by Cotswold Cameras I was able to follow progress via the DHL tracking app. I have been enjoying the improved quality and features of the Canon R5 Mk2 over my old Canon 5D Mk4 DSLR (which was a grey import from a different retailer). I can honestly say that with Cotswold Cameras you get a 100% genuine Canon product with a better guarantee and a very substantial saving as opposed to buying from a U.K. authorised Canon retailer. And the reality is that currently even if you did want to buy from a U.K. authorised Canon retailer you will struggle to find anyone with any R5 Mk2 stock and the same goes for some of the latest RF lens.
In conclusion, the Canon R5 Mk2 is a fantastic camera and the RF lens are a definite improvement over the older EF mount lens. There are other grey importers selling camera equipment but after doing a lot of research and comparing prices it was clear to me that Cotswold Cameras were the safest option and they had some of the best prices anywhere on the internet so, I will no doubt be ordering more Canon equipment from them in the coming months. I can without hesitation recommend Cotswold Cameras, you certainly wont regret the very substantial savings made.
