Requirements

Deposit

For all first time rentals we will take a security deposit in addition to the cost of rental to cover the cost of the camera. This will be returned to your card once the unit has been returned to us safely and in good condition. The refund of your deposit is processed the same day as we receive your return and will take 3-5 days to show back on your card. Example you rent the camera for 1 day. We take initial payment for the rental. We then email you an invoice for the remainder of the list price of the camera. You return the camera to us without issues and we refund the deposit back to your card.

Existing customers will be subject to lesser security deposits of £850 per rental. Alternatively existing customers may opt to avail insurance for the rental which will cost in the region of £20 and be subject to £500 excess fee. If you opt to take out insurance then we will bill you after you have booked your rental for the cost of the insurance premium and the fully refundable £500 excess insurance charge. Once the camera is returned in satisfactory condition the £500 excess charge will be refunded back to your card.

We will email you a separate electronic invoice to pay the security deposit after you place your order. Your booking will only be confirmed once this payment has been completed.

High ratio ultra telephoto zoom lens covering a standard range focal length to telephoto and incorporating Sigma’s original OS function.

This ultra telephoto zoom lens covers a range of focal lengths from 50mm to 500mm ultra telephoto. This lens is equipped with Sigma’s unique OS (Optical Stabiliser) function. This system enables hand held photography for many types of subjects such as motor sports, aeroplanes, close-up and wildlife. Four SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass elements provide excellent correction of colour aberration throughout the entire zoom range. Incorporation of HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) ensures quiet and high speed AF, while allowing full-time manual focus override. The addition of the optional APO TELE CONVERTER produces a 1000mm ultra telephoto zoom lens.

Covering a range of focal lengths up to ultra telephoto

This lens is ideal for many types of photography such as motor sport, aeroplanes, close-up and wildlife. By rotating the zoom ring, it is possible to change the focal length easily from a standard focal length to an ultra telephoto range. This lens has an equivalent angle of view of a 75-750mm lens * when used on a digital camera with an APS-C size image sensor

*The angle of view varies depending on which camera the lens is mounted on.

Sigma’s own unique OS technology

The lens is equipped with Sigma’s own unique OS (Optical Stabiliser) function. This system offers the use of shutter speeds approximately 4 stops slower than would otherwise be possible, making telephoto shooting easy. Mode 1 is ideal for general photography and Mode 2 is designed for panning subjects such as racing cars.

Excellent Optical Performance

This lens features four SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass elements, providing excellent correction of colour aberration throughout the entire zoom range. The super multi-layer coating reduces flare and ghosting and ensures high contrast images. This lens is equipped with a read focus system that minimises fluctuation of aberration caused by focusing. High image quality is assured throughout the entire zoom range.

Close focusing capability

This lens has a maximum magnification of 1:3.1 (at the focal length of 200mm). It enables photographers to get close up to small subjects and eliminate distracting parts of larger subjects.

HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor)

The rear focus mechanism and HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) ensures quiet and high speed AF as well as full time manual focus capability.

APO Tele-Converter (Optional)

The addition of the optical 1.4x EX DG APO or 2x EX DG APO Tele Converters produce a 70-700mm F6.3-8.8 MF ultra-telephoto zoom lens or a 100-1000mm F9-12.6 MF ultra-telephoto zoom lens respectively.

Easy Operation and Handling

This lens features a Zoom Lock device to eliminate “zoom creep” when the lens is tilted down. When the lens is set to the 50mm focal length, it is remarkably compact and provides easy handling. A removable tripod socket (TS-31) is included making it convenient for handheld photography. The Rear Focus mechanism makes it possible to use the custom bayonet "Petal-type Hood" which prevents extraneous light from degrading the image quality. The lens has a 95mm filter thread and is also supplied with a step down ring enabling digital cameras with an APS-C size image sensor to use an 86mm diameter filter.
